Mid-sem report card 😃
The reason I chose to take get fit instead of regular PE was to change my outlook on fitness since in grade 8 and 9, fitness days were the days I was least looking forward to. I have noticed a change in my self between these two months. I'm getting more and more used to doing fitness everyday. In this class, I've actually seen a difference in my eating habits outside of school. I'm eating healthier nowadays. The one thing I'm finding surprising is that I enjoyed doing the relays that we did outside. Although some of the excersises were challenging, I felt so much better about my self in the end. I think one of the things I've improved on is pushing through the uncomfortable feeling while working out. The fieldtrips that we've been on have been really fun! The workouts that we did for our arms at the dance fieldtrip is an example of when I tried to push through the uncomfortable feeling. Since I took karate before I kind of knew what to expect at the taekwondo field trip but I remembered why I enjoyed it so much in the first place. It's a great stress-reliever and it's a good workout! Our recent activity with fencing was interesting because we learned different strategies and more information about fencing. I think I've improved my outlook on doing fitness workouts. I've been much more open to them.
Fencing
Our three-day fencing experience was exciting. The whole process of putting on the equipment was something that I didn't expect. The booby-protector was interesting. I really liked learning all the different strategies of fencing. Like how you would take small steps backwards and take bigger leaps foreword in order to win against your opponent. When we first learned that we would get the opportunity to learn how to fence, I was excited since I've never done it before. I'm usually quite hesitant when trying new things but with this class I'm getting more open to these situation. I do think I put my best effort into the jousting. It was a memorable experience
