Semester End Reflection.

I've noticed a huge difference in myself between grade 8&9 and grade 10 when it comes to PE. I've had a much more open mind when it comes to working out. I've been fully participating more in class and actually enjoying it. I've really liked getting the chances to go on the fieldtrips. Hot yoga is something I probably wouldn't consider doing in my own time so I'm really glad I did it in this class. Since I had done karate before, I kind of knew what to expect when walking into taek wondo, but it was fun to re-do a lot of the things after so long. I noticed that I was stress-free for that class. It was a nice way to blow off steam. I really enjoyed doing fitness classes where we had a variety of excersises to do rather than running for the entire class. It makes it much more enjoyable. I really liked doing the circuit that we did in October, I think, where we were outside on the field and did a bunch of different excersises. We had so much variety in the workouts that made it different compared to other fitness days. I actually prefer doing PE with our class separate from the others in our block since I don't have to worry about anyone else and can focus on myself. I really enjoyed this class, mostly because it was girls only. It was easier to focus on working out, in my opinion. I'm actually looking forward to taking get fit again next year for grade 11. I've had a lot of fun this semester and want to take this class again. I really liked the fact that everyone in this class was so motivating. Everyone was ready to motivate whenever someone felt like giving up.

Winter Break

After coming back from winter break and doing the circuit workout, I could definitely feel my self pushing to get see a difference. I've noticed that my thoughts about fitness are improving since I'm not just showing negativity. I've tried making it more positive by just doing something silly that could release 'tension'. I think mostly I've just been dancing much more to keep myself positive during fitness days and it's really making a difference. With the alternating circuit I saw myself pushing even harder and continuing to run even when my legs are shaking and I'm super tired. There are still things I could improve on but I've noticed a pretty big difference within myself between last year and this year. During winter break, I walked around a lot with a couple of my friends. We would walk to the library where we attempted to finish our homework.
here's a picture of me and one of my friends whilst on an adventure. We tried the powerful-force-thing picture.
Here's a picture of a route we took while walking to the library, and it was uphill might I add.

Hot Yoga Fieldtrip

This was one of those things that I would never consider doing in my own time but I'm so glad I went through with it! I was quite hesitant a few days in advance of the trip. I don't think I've ever actually sweat that much within a 45 minute time period in my entire life. After the session, I felt rejuvenated. I really wish I'd taken a picture of the dripping sweat on my face but I realized I should've whilst in the shower. :(

Mid-sem report card 😃

The reason I chose to take get fit instead of regular PE was to change my outlook on fitness since in grade 8 and 9, fitness days were the days I was least looking forward to. I have noticed a change in my self between these two months. I'm getting more and more used to doing fitness everyday. In this class, I've actually seen a difference in my eating habits outside of school. I'm eating healthier nowadays. The one thing I'm finding surprising is that I enjoyed doing the relays that we did outside. Although some of the excersises were challenging, I felt so much better about my self in the end. I think one of the things I've improved on is pushing through the uncomfortable feeling while working out. The fieldtrips that we've been on have been really fun! The workouts that we did for our arms at the dance fieldtrip is an example of when I tried to push through the uncomfortable feeling. Since I took karate before I kind of knew what to expect at the taekwondo field trip but I remembered why I enjoyed it so much in the first place. It's a great stress-reliever and it's a good workout! Our recent activity with fencing was interesting because we learned different strategies and more information about fencing. I think I've improved my outlook on doing fitness workouts. I've been much more open to them.
I think I should get a B.

Fencing

Our three-day fencing experience was exciting. The whole process of putting on the equipment was something that I didn't expect. The booby-protector was interesting. I really liked learning all the different strategies of fencing. Like how you would take small steps backwards and take bigger leaps foreword in order to win against your opponent. When we first learned that we would get the opportunity to learn how to fence, I was excited since I've never done it before. I'm usually quite hesitant when trying new things but with this class I'm getting more open to these situation. I do think I put my best effort into the jousting. It was a memorable experience

Update

Our recent field trip where we learned different taekwondo stuff was really exciting, in my opinion. I think everyone in our class enjoyed embracing our inner Jackie Chan.

The relay activity we did during fitness on oct.29 was a good chance for me to try really hard and I think I tried my hardest. I prefer to do these kind of activities where we get a variety of workouts more than activities where we just do the same thing for the entire block. Another thing is that I prefer to do PE with just our class rather than with the entire block.

Things that motivate me :D

I've been watching videos from this YouTube channel for a few years now and once in a while the guy does workout months and just says inspirational things that motivate a lot of people on the Internet

Shay Carl was a hundred pounds heavier than he is now and he made a change in his lifestyle so he could be healthier and keep up with his 4 kids!

Here are some pictures that can inspire

I'd prefer to be listening to music while I workout since it pushes me and adds intensity in the workout. I like to listen to upbeat pop or rap songs. I'll listen to any Justin Timberlake song. Also, I really like roar by Katy perry.
