Hot Yoga Fieldtrip
This was one of those things that I would never consider doing in my own time but I'm so glad I went through with it! I was quite hesitant a few days in advance of the trip. I don't think I've ever actually sweat that much within a 45 minute time period in my entire life. After the session, I felt rejuvenated. I really wish I'd taken a picture of the dripping sweat on my face but I realized I should've whilst in the shower. :(

Mid-sem report card 😃
The reason I chose to take get fit instead of regular PE was to change my outlook on fitness since in grade 8 and 9, fitness days were the days I was least looking forward to. I have noticed a change in my self between these two months. I'm getting more and more used to doing fitness everyday. In this class, I've actually seen a difference in my eating habits outside of school. I'm eating healthier nowadays. The one thing I'm finding surprising is that I enjoyed doing the relays that we did outside. Although some of the excersises were challenging, I felt so much better about my self in the end. I think one of the things I've improved on is pushing through the uncomfortable feeling while working out. The fieldtrips that we've been on have been really fun! The workouts that we did for our arms at the dance fieldtrip is an example of when I tried to push through the uncomfortable feeling. Since I took karate before I kind of knew what to expect at the taekwondo field trip but I remembered why I enjoyed it so much in the first place. It's a great stress-reliever and it's a good workout! Our recent activity with fencing was interesting because we learned different strategies and more information about fencing. I think I've improved my outlook on doing fitness workouts. I've been much more open to them.
I think I should get a B.
Fencing
Our three-day fencing experience was exciting. The whole process of putting on the equipment was something that I didn't expect. The booby-protector was interesting. I really liked learning all the different strategies of fencing. Like how you would take small steps backwards and take bigger leaps foreword in order to win against your opponent. When we first learned that we would get the opportunity to learn how to fence, I was excited since I've never done it before. I'm usually quite hesitant when trying new things but with this class I'm getting more open to these situation. I do think I put my best effort into the jousting. It was a memorable experience

Update
Our recent field trip where we learned different taekwondo stuff was really exciting, in my opinion. I think everyone in our class enjoyed embracing our inner Jackie Chan.
The relay activity we did during fitness on oct.29 was a good chance for me to try really hard and I think I tried my hardest. I prefer to do these kind of activities where we get a variety of workouts more than activities where we just do the same thing for the entire block. Another thing is that I prefer to do PE with just our class rather than with the entire block.

Things that motivate me :D
I've been watching videos from this YouTube channel for a few years now and once in a while the guy does workout months and just says inspirational things that motivate a lot of people on the Internet
youtube.com/ShayLoss
Shay Carl was a hundred pounds heavier than he is now and he made a change in his lifestyle so he could be healthier and keep up with his 4 kids!
Here are some pictures that can inspire
I'd prefer to be listening to music while I workout since it pushes me and adds intensity in the workout. I like to listen to upbeat pop or rap songs. I'll listen to any Justin Timberlake song. Also, I really like roar by Katy perry.
Update
So far I've really been enjoying GetFit. I feel like I've been try much harder than I had in grade 9 when it comes to fitness. I've really liked doing the different circuits as I can push myself in different activities instead of focusing just on one for the entire class. I also had a lot of fun at the dance field trip. The one warm up excersize where we worked our arms for a long time had left me in a lot of pain the next day. :( Although, the second time was much easier than the first.

GetFit10
The reason I chose get fit instead of regular P.E was because I really need to change my thoughts on fitness. During grade 9, the fitness classes were the classes that I wasn't looking forward to at all. I need to learn to push myself more while doing fitness. Also I didn't like doing fitness with the entire pe block. I prefer to do the activity within my own class. By the end of the semester I want to beat my beep test score and I want to control my hatred towards fitness! I want to have a better outlook towards it.

Final (:
I really like doing the insanity workouts. I'm not really much of an hot, sunny weather-loving person so I prefer being inside during PE. If the weather outside is in between hot and cold then I would love to do anything outside
I've really enjoyed the games we play as a class but not so much when we do choice. I just feel not everyone tries and it starts to rub off on me but I do try and keep an open mind.

Community Run
I really think I could've ran more. I ran all the downhills and walked all the uphills which took a lot more time. And now my legs are burning which is always fun!

Mid-second term reflection
I think that personally I need to more enthusiasm and encouragement in our active learning classes. Most of it should come from myself. Even when we were playing capture the flag, I should've tried harder than I did and I know I could've. However, that was the first time since spring break that I actually ran for my life, literally so I felt the pain the next day I think I'm in the range between a B and C*. Between the next two and a half months I want to engage in more activities outside of school and eating healthier is another one of my goals. Here's a picture showing Hazelle and I in the weight room while she is doing a plank and I am helping her.

Jessica's Reflection
I think I have a positive outlook on the class. I'm always cheering people on and helping out with the equipment. I'm always on time and I've only forgot my gym strip a couple of times. However I do need to improve my attitude towards fitness days because that is what I'm least looking forward to each week. I need to work on not giving up that easily. I cheer people on during the activities. Whenever we need to set up nets for volleyball or badminton, I'm always helping out by carrying the poles to their spot and back. I keep all my records in a duo tang so I don't lose something or misplace it. I'm not always enthusiastic about certain activities but I try to come to class with a positive attitude no matter what activity we are doing. Here's a picture of two very exhausted students after an unexpected fitness session:

Active Learning
Throughout the semester so far, I think I've only been away a few times. They usually involved doctors appointments. I've forgotten my gym strip only once and forgot to bring gym shoes on the day I had Active Learning. I feel like I do put in effort when it comes to the regular classes. Although, I do think I could put in much more effort and more energy in the Fitness classes. I have helped set up the games and putting them away when I see that others aren't really putting in much effort in helping out. In our weight room classes, my goal in this semester was to gain muscle in my arms so I have been using the workouts that involve me working out my arms. The days we have choice, I actually put in effort but the people around me tend to take this class less seriously and we don't always get a good game going, especially when we play volleyball or badminton. I actually like doing the longer beep test rather than the real thing. I'd rather push myself longer than to go at it once and stop when I can't run anymore.
